Why Now?

According to the latest statistics highlighted in an article by the Washington Post dated May 18, 2015, 82 percent of Foreign Service officers (the commissioned career officers serving in embassies and consulates abroad as well as some policy positions stateside) are white. Seven percent are Asian American, 5.4 percent are African American, and 5 percent are Latino.

In a world of over seven billion people, we believe those who are working on behalf of our nation should be representative of the great diversity that defines America.
